Week 8 Reading and Writting

I would say that over all, my reading and writing assignments are getting easier every week! As the class has progressed, I've not only increased the speed at which I take in the information each week, but also the confidence with which I approach my writing. I'm content with my blog website, I like the look and feel of it but what I'm truly proud of is my project website! The look and feel of it are really pleasing to me and I'm really having a lot of fun trying to bring Shiva and his family to life through my writing! I'd say that for me the greatest accomplishment in this class thus far has been dropping my walls and starting to write from my own voice as opposed to trying to write what I think people will wan't to hear. At the beginning of this course, every sentence worried me, I thought that anything I wrote wouldn't be good enough, but now I have started writing for myself and its become cathartic in a way. The reading notes have also been super helpful with my story output as I am certainly the kind of person that will forget everything I've researched as soon as I move on to the next task of the day.

In regard to looking forward, I've noticed recently that I have not been giving myself ample time to give my best work and I am actively trying to be proactive with the assignments form this point forward. Its been a crazy semester and there was a month period where I simply didn't have more time to dedicate to the course work but now that I do have the time, I need to get out of the "just try to catch up and stay afloat" mindset and be ahead of my work instead.

Proactive: creating or controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than responding to it after it has happened.
