The first story that intrigued me was Ghost Stories of OU because I've always been fascinated with tales of the occult and haunted so I was immediately drawn to the title. Being a vocal performance major, I spend a good deal of time in rehearsals and classes within the walls of Holmberg hall so when I read about a spectral professor slamming doors and playing a phantom organ late at night in the theater, I knew I needed to read more.
The next story I found was Indra: The Thunder God. The thing that initially drew me to this story was the depiction of a four armed man riding on the back of a flying elephant battling a giant demonic serpent. I was really drawn in by the parallels between the thunder god Indra to the descriptions of Zeus and Thor. I've read just about every story of Greek mythology and most Nordic ones as well so I was excited to read that the author was tying all three myths into one higher arching story while still maintaining the integrity of each individual origin story.

The last story I choose to read was one that I felt an immediate compulsion to click on as it was titled The Un-Told Stories of Spongebob. I grew up watching cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants and I still shamelessly spurt out multiple quotes a day so of course I was intrigued to find out more about these untold events under the sea. The stories are cleverly written as diary entries where Spongebob keeps all of the secrets of Bikini Bottom that are too dark or shocking to be told on television stored away. The second of these stories was especially morbid and surprising, detailing how his sweet pet Gary met his demise at the hands of the wicked villain, Plankton. While I personally wouldn't have chosen to kill off Spongebob's sassy pet snail, I can respect the bold choice and it did a good job of keeping me captivated.
